Welcome to ClearSpeak. By downloading, installing, or using the ClearSpeak app or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use ClearSpeak.
1. What ClearSpeak Is (and Isn't)
ClearSpeak is a speech confidence practice tool. It is designed to help individuals build communication skills through daily deliberate practice, real-time feedback, and structured programs.
ClearSpeak is not:
- A licensed medical device or clinical therapy tool
- A substitute for licensed speech-language pathology or psychological treatment
- A diagnostic tool for speech or communication disorders
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use ClearSpeak. If you are between 13 and 17, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf.
By using ClearSpeak, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
3. Free Tier & Premium Subscription
Free tier: ClearSpeak offers a free tier that includes the 7-day ClearSpeak Core program, unlimited daily practice sessions, real-time filler word tracking, and the streak system. The free tier is available indefinitely — there is no time limit or forced trial expiration.
Premium subscription: Premium unlocks all 17 guided programs, the full 18-module practice library, advanced analytics, and full content libraries. Premium is offered as a recurring subscription (monthly or annual) at the price displayed in the App Store or Google Play at time of purchase.
- Premium subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) subscription settings — not through the app itself
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Premium access until then
- Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's refund policies, not ours, except where local law requires otherwise
All billing and payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. We do not store or access your payment details.
4. Your Obligations
By using ClearSpeak, you agree to:
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app
- Not use the app to engage in any illegal or harmful activity
- Not redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to ClearSpeak or its content
- Not impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
- Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws
5. Intellectual Property
All content within ClearSpeak — including but not limited to the app software, guided programs, practice modules, scripts, UI design, branding, and documentation — is owned by ClearSpeak or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ClearSpeak for your personal speech practice. This license does not include the right to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or otherwise exploit ClearSpeak's content.
The "ClearSpeak" name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of ClearSpeak. You may not use them without prior written permission.
6. Content You Generate
Your practice recordings, voice samples, session results, and progress data are stored locally on your device only. We have no access to this data.
You retain full ownership of any content you generate through practicing with ClearSpeak. We make no claim of ownership over your voice, speech patterns, or practice sessions.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
ClearSpeak is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs
- Results described on our website will be achieved by all users — individual results vary based on consistency of use, starting point, and other factors
- The app is suitable for any specific clinical or therapeutic purpose
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ClearSpeak and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of ClearSpeak shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ClearSpeak is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to ClearSpeak at any time, with or without cause, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using ClearSpeak and cancel your Premium subscription at any time.
Upon termination, your license to use ClearSpeak ends. Since your practice data is stored locally, you may retain it on your device or delete it by uninstalling the app.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification for significant changes
Continued use of ClearSpeak after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
